Weird Era could best be described as creating lo-fi, shoegaze sound thats moody, rough around the edges vibe is accomplished by thunderous distortion and oppressive, lingering vocals.
Having released two acclaimed homemade albums before even playing a gig, Manchester’s promoters and labels were literally fighting to get a hold of Weird Era. Instead of jumping on board the machine, they hit the streets of Manchester, handing their music out for free before stepping sultry into the light and playing their first gig; an un-promoted basement show to heaps of rapturous fans. One thing is for certain with Weird Era, they have consciously avoided the path taken by so many former Manchester bands; they couldn’t feel further from the likes of the Gallagher brothers.
